July 29 : Cap Ferret

SURF DAY

It’s just a short drive from Bordeaux to Cap Ferret. The cap is a long, narrow peninsula that separates Bassins du Arcachon from the Atlantic. It’s carpeted in a forest of long, tall pines. There’s a long, tall lighthouse at the end of the cap. We’ll get there early in the morning so I can surf the clean waves. We’ll ride bikes and maybe kayak in the bay. Then we’ll relax by a fire until we fall asleep to the sound of leaves fluttering in the trees.

This is the cap. There is surf there.

This place is for the staying…

This is for getting around…

This is what we see when we’re getting around…

This is for the breakfast…

This is for the lunch…

This is for the dinner…

Nearby, there is the tallest sand dune in Europe…

I hope it doesn’t storm today, but this is the lighthouse in lightning…

This is for the sweet dreams…goodnight, Cap Ferret.
